Young Careers Expo

By Amie Baard, Program Lead

On Tuesday 7th May, our Education Team members, Henna Watson and Mindi Smart, proudly represented Enterprise Plus at the Careers Expo in Young. As one of the 50 stallholders, we were thrilled to participate alongside a diverse array of organisations, including apprenticeship and traineeship providers, employers, universities, and TAFE institutions. The expo was a vibrant hub of activity, drawing in an impressive 850 students from seven secondary schools in the region. Notably, 250 enthusiastic students from Young Public and Young North Public Schools (primary) also attended, eager to explore the countless opportunities available to them.

The event was an invaluable platform for students to engage directly with representatives from various educational and vocational pathways, providing them with crucial insights and guidance for their future careers. Henna and Mindi were on hand to offer personalised advice and support, highlighting the programs and services Enterprise Plus offers to help students navigate their educational journeys. The positive energy and enthusiasm from both students and stallholders made the day a resounding success, underscoring the importance of such events in fostering connections and inspiring the next generation.

“We look forward to continuing our support and participation in future expos, contributing to the growth and development of our community’s youth.” – Amie Baard, Program Coordinator
