Get Back in the Game Update

by Amie Baard, Program Lead

Term 3 has commenced, and our staff have been extremely busy with a wave of new referrals. We’ve been hard at work helping dozens of young people across the region sign up for TAFE courses for Semester 2. Many students are enrolling in a diverse range of courses, including Year 10 and Year 11 & 12 equivalent programs, Salon Assistant training, and construction courses plus a range of short courses including white cards, traffic control and first aid.

In mid-August, we’ll be attending the South Coast and Far South Coast Careers and Employment Expo in Batemans Bay, where we expect nearly 600 students from schools across the South Coast to attend. This event will provide a fantastic opportunity for students to explore future career paths and connect with potential employers.

Additionally, we’re looking forward to the Jerrabomberra STEM Expo in late August, where we’ll be engaging with students interested in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.

The GBIG team is excited for what’s to come and is looking forward to a busy and successful Semester 2, full of opportunities for the young people we support.
