Success Spotlight: High Country Automotive Group’s Work Placement

By Mindi Smart, Work Placement Program Lead

Matthew Kimbell, a Year 12 student from Monaro High School, recently completed a work placement at High Country Automotive Group in Cooma. Under the guidance of Owner Steve Ganitis and his workshop team, Matthew engaged in hands-on experience, showcasing his dedication to the automotive industry.

Impressed by Matthew’s enthusiasm, Steve offered him a 1st-year apprenticeship in light vehicle automotive for 2024. Matthew has already begun specialised training with Toyota Network Training, focusing on vehicle repair, customer service, and hybrid engine expertise.

High Country Automotive Group has been a proud host for the Work Placement Program for 6 years.

‘Work Placement is a good opportunity to find keen young candidates who get to show their skills. It gives future apprentices the chance to see if the industry is the right fit for them.’
– Steve Ganitis

Congratulations to Matthew and a huge thank you to High Country Automotive Group for their continued commitment to nurturing young talent in the automotive industry.
