Michelle O’Neill is the Founder and Principal at Cherry Tree Equine, a fifth generation Horse Woman, Horse Breeder, Trainer, Teacher, and Educator. Michelle grew up riding and working stock on the family property in the Snowy Mountains. In her teens she began competing at Pony Club before moving into Dressage and Western events, where she has excelled as a champion Barrel Racer for the last 24 years. O’Neill is renowned for instilling confidence in her students. At her clinics she shares her lifelong expertise in her three principles of: Consistency, Control and Confidence.
With the challenges of the last three years impacting Michelle’s in-person workshops, she decided to develop a new online training program called Cherry Tree Virtual (CTV). CTV offers online education and training, making horse training accessible and affordable for more horse owners and riders. CTV launched with over 200 professionally filmed and edited videos. All aspects of horse training are covered, from the basics of horse care, through to training exercises and programs.
Michelle returned to the Business Connect program for advice and support to promote and market CTV. Business Advisor Lisa La Maitre helped Michelle find ways to raise her professional profile, as well as the business brand.
This included a review of her business brand, ensuring her website and social media channels were up-to-date, support finding opportunities to promote the business, and guidance through the process of writing and sending media releases and repositioned as ‘The Woman from Snowy River’. In the last few months Michelle has been a Finalist in the Excellence for Micro Business category of the Snowy Monaro Business Awards, featured in NSW Rural Women’s Network #berural campaign and interviewed by About Regional media. Michelle has seen increased engagement and reviews across her social media platforms and website.
