23 Nov Digital Communication boosts Boutique Theatre – Case Study
Who: Bowraville Theatre
Where: Bowravilla (mid-north coast), NSW
What: Introducing digital tools to help communications with stakeholders and supporters
Bowraville is a historic village on the NSW Mid North Coast and known for several attractions, one of the most noteworthy being the Bowraville Theatre.
Built in the 1940s, the theatre stands in the middle of the town, very much a tribute to the local community, who, over the past two decades, worked to restore the venue and equip it with state-of-the-art lighting and digital equipment.
Local interest in movies, concerts and cultural performances has recently escalated, and the Bowraville Arts Council has worked hard to match this enthusiasm by bringing in a significant number of high-level films and shows to the area.
The theatre’s growing following, however, meant the need for a more streamlined communication system.
Council Secretary, Dale Hawkins, and writer, Tina Birtles, enlisted the help of ASBAS Digital Solutions Business Advisor, Robyn Simon, to help set up a Mailchimp email.
Both Dale and Tina are thrilled with the result.
They now have a way to communicate with stakeholders and supporters and can see at a glance the level of interest in the promoted shows.
Both extend their heartfelt thanks to Robyn and see the email as a major step towards growing the venue as the home of theatre and the performing arts in the Nambucca Valley.
