Selling a service vs selling a product

It is harder to sell an intangible service than it is to sell a tangible product. You have probably heard of the 4Ps in relation to marketing and selling a product, however, not many people have heard of the extra 3Ps required for a service.

Learning Objectives:
1. Learn the 4 Characteristics of a Service and how it differs from a Product
2. Learn the 7Ps of Marketing and Selling a Service
3. Understand how to overcome the challenge of a service being tangible

Learning Outcomes:
1. Be able to be “tangibilise” your service offering so the purchase decision becomes easier for customers
2. Apply the extra 3Ps required to effectively market and sell a service
3. Update your content and apply proven tactics to sell a service

About your Presenter: Alan Pomering
Alan’s experience in small business has involved running a media firm for over two decades, providing freelance editorial copy and photography content to a wide range of consumer and trade publications, locally and internationally, providing public relations support for small tourism businesses, producing a regional restaurant guide and a travel newsletter that was distributed by travel agencies throughout Australia, and providing corporate training in customer service.
