How to write an effective job advertisement

07/03/2023 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm AEDT

Employers, out of desperation, are offering all manner of incentives to attract staff amid Australia’s worsening skills shortage crisis. Some businesses have resorted to reducing trading hours, dropping qualification requirements, or even hiring people with no resume because of the lack of skilled workers. Providing unsustainable incentives or accepting anyone who walks through your door as an immediate solution will not achieve your long-term business objectives.

Learning Objectives:
1. Attract quality staff by learning the difference between a job description and a job advertisement
2. Attract suitable candidates by learning the 7 most effective tips for constructing a compelling job advertisement
3. Create your recruitment competitive advantage by identifying an appealing ‘wow’ factor relevant to staff working in your business

Learning Outcomes:
1. Optimise recruitment efficiency by updating your job descriptions to accurately describe the tasks, responsibilities, and qualifications required
2. Maximise relevant job applications by accurately communicating and selling the employment opportunity, the ‘wow’ factor
3. Promote your recruitment competitive advantage by learning how to make your position stand-out from other similar roles
