Marketing fundamentals for small business

The ultimate outcome is to get your product or service to market. At the heart of that challenging and exciting process is marketing. Good marketing has the ability to facilitate an exchange at the all-important intersection of supply and demand.

Develop a compelling short marketing message to stimulate and motivate customers to make a purchase.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
1. Bring focus to your marketing by identifying your core products/services and what benefits they offer customers.
2. Understand the needs and wants of your target market customer, what represents value to them, and how to reach them.
3. Understand Customer Buyer Behaviour and what motivates a customer to make a purchase.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Develop a compelling short marketing message to feature in communications to better engage with and attract customers.
2. Drive repeat business, positive word of mouth promotion, and customer loyalty, by meeting the needs of your customers.

About the Presenter: Darryl Tonks
Darryl is a small business owner and certified results coach with proven ability to lead business transformations that increase profitability, streamline operations and create sustainable structures that free business owners up to focus on the aspects of the business they love and time with their family. Has extensive experience in service-based business operations and commercial aviation.

Darryl has the ability to work with people to understand their business and personal goals and to develop sustainable business structures to provide the financial and lifestyle rewards they are looking for. With excellent communication and relationship-building skills, Darryl is approachable, diplomatic and humble in his approach to serving others to gain clarity of their business vision and set and achieve their goals.

About the Host: Court Sayer-Roberts
Court is a qualified small business financial counsellor with over 20 years of management experience, including 9 years at the senior management level within the food manufacturing industry in New Zealand and Australia, overseeing the production and launch of major food brands and products.

Court has experienced firsthand the challenges that rural businesses face, having been through drought periods himself with both SunRice and his own businesses in Leeton, which include small business consulting, and owner/operator of a café and catering business.

Court works closely with small businesses in building and coaching high-performing teams and individuals to meet their goals, as well as helping develop business relationships with their key stakeholders through changing environments. This means helping simplify business processes and understanding finances to make informed decisions.

Court provides small business advice in the local government areas of Leeton, Griffith, Narrandera, Hay, Edward River, and Murray River. He can also assist with navigating the extensive range of government assistance packages available.
